This TH Institute will explore the intersection of quantum simulation and computation with high-energy physics (HEP).
Key objectives include:
- Developing and refining quantum simulations for HEP problems, focusing on lattice gauge and quantum field theories.
- Designing and analyzing quantum algorithms tailored for HEP applications, such as Hamiltonian simulation, scattering amplitudes, and hybrid quantum-classical approaches. Error mitigation strategies for noisy intermediate-scale quantum devices will also be analyzed.
- Establishing rigorous benchmarks to assess the performance of quantum hardware and algorithms using HEP-relevant metrics.
- Investigating the potential of quantum computing to address challenging problems in particle phenomenology and beyond the Standard Model, including simulations of non-perturbative phenomena, studies of astroparticle physics (e.g., dark matter and axion dynamics), and neutrino evolution.
This interdisciplinary research will bring together experts in quantum simulation, quantum computation, high-energy physics, and related fields to advance the field of quantum technologies for scientific discovery.
The deadline for applications is May 18, 2025. Note that the number of places is limited, so registrations will be moderated.
