Geneva CMB Day at CERN

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

The unprecedented precision measurements by the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) and the South Pole Telescope (SPT) of the CMB anisotropies motivate us to hold a CMB day in Geneva. These new datasets in combination with Planck are the cornerstone of the standard cosmological model and also represent a key constraint on an array of scenarios beyond.

In this one-day workshop we will have the leading world experts of these observations and analyses summarizing these new results, highlighting their main implications, and identifying key challenges for the years to come.

Everyone is most welcome to attend and join us. We will have plenty of time for discussions. The workshop will take place on September 17 at CERN. The invited speakers are:

  • Etienne Camphuis (Paris, Inst. Astrophys.) -- Leader of the SPT-3G temperature and polarization deep field power spectrum. Topic: Recent SPT results.
  • Julien Carron (University of Geneva) -- Leader of the Planck PR4 CMB lensing maps and likelihood.Topic: Latest news and prospects from CMB lensing and CMB de-lensing for inflation.
  • Thibaut Louis (CNRS, IJCLab, Orsay) -- Leader of the ACT power spectrum and likelihood DR6 analysis.Topic: Recent ACT results.

The plan is to get an accurate understanding of the new set of CMB observations and their implications. There will be plenty of room for discussion.

Participation will be in hybrid format and everything will be broadcast on Zoom. If you want to register for in-person participation please do it in the registration tab. For logistical reasons the in-person participation will be moderated.
